Brushy Mountain Cyclists Club
The Brushy Mountain Cyclists Club is the
club for all cyclists in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Our members
include mountain bikers and road riders of all ages and abilities. One
thing we have in common....we all love the challenge posed by the rugged and
scenic terrain of our corner of North Carolina. Wilkes County has a small but
avid cycling community. Wilkes was a stage start for the 1994 Tour DuPont.
Three-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong and other top professional
racers have competed here. Wilkes was also a host community for the 2000
Cycle North Carolina cross-state bike tour. Our club seeks to
promote cycling in this area through rides, meetings, service projects and
special events, such as our annual Rides Around Wilkes road cycling event.
