Shop Gardening
This privately owned nursery specializes in
herbs and herbal products. They sponsor occasional seminars and synposiums
(pre-registration required) that are as informative as interesting. If you're heading
south on I-95 gtom I-40, take exit 65. Follow NC-82 through Falcon to the stop sign. Turn
right and you will see the gardens and fields on the left. The Farm Shop is the first
house on the right after you pass the gardens. Note, if you will be coming north on

The Botanical Gardens are relatively new.
Located northeast of downtown on I-95 Business (also known as US-301 and Eastern Blvd), it
includes some 85 acres with very nice network of trails. Admission fee $2. 536 N. Eastern

While not a garden, per se, the Nature Center
sports seasonal displays including plants. That is the excuse for including the park. The
real reason is the network of trails along the banks of the Cape Fear River. This is all
wild but in the spring it is aglow with blooms from an immense variety of flowers. Just

On the campus of the Fayetteville Technical Community
College, this little garden demonstrates that you don't have to be big to be great. From
about the middle of May to well into October, the garden is a mass of rose blooms. Good

Rasland
Herb Farm
Located 20 miles northeast of
downtown Fayetteville, this is a privately-owned herbal garden & farm. Tours
must be scheduled by appointment and can view the greenhouses and display gardens. They
have an herb shop where plants may be purchased. Normal hours are Mon-Sat 10a-5p. Closed
Sundays and holidays. From Fayetteville take I-95 north to exit 58. Exit onto and follow
US-13 "north' (towards Goldsboro) to NC-82 (about 8 miles). Turn left onto NC-82. The
entrance is at the first house on your left. FREE. For information and to make
