Boone Hall Plantation - Mt Pleasant
Formal azalea and camelia gardens in a very formal, English style, setting are supposed to be an adjunct to tours of the plantation house. Notice the brickwork in the garden walks. There are a lot of gardens in the Charleston area. Although they all have many of the same plants, these gardens each have sufficient individualism to be worth the effort of touring all of them, - if you have the time and energy. Boone Hall is about 8 miles east ('north' by the highway signs) of Charleston on US-17 (entrance on your right). Admission fee. 843-884-4371.
