Bennettsville area FacilitiesNote: telephone area code is 843Jennings-Brown House and Marlboro County Historical Museum - SCBuilt in the early 1800s, the Jennings-Brown house is a good example of architecture of the period (complete with detached kitchen). The museum next door includes displays illustrating life of the period. Museum is FREE; small admission to tour the house. Open Monday through Friday. Here is one of the finest presentations of the history, and culture, of cotton production in the American South. A way of life few outsiders understand, you can see, feel, touch and smell your way to a better understanding of the major influence in the development - and sometime troubles - of the area. Normally open Monday through Friday (10a - 5p) but tours can be arranged.
