House in the Horseshoe State Historic Site - Sanford NC

Site of bitter fighting during the Revolutionary War, bullet holes and other battle damage is still visible. Here, a battle with the Tories resulted in the defeat of the Colonial Patriots led by Colonel Alston. The house was badly damaged in the battle. The house is located at 324 Alston House Road in Sanford NC. Sanford is on US-421 just east of US-1 (about 35 minutes from Raleigh). Phone 910-947-2051
