Long Cane Creek USFS Day Use Area
The picnic facilities and nice lakeside trails make this a relaxing place to spend a couple hours. Sorry, no camp sites but there is a boat ramp and Long Cane Creek offers great canoeing. (The last time we visited there was no drinking water - or toilets.) This is a very attractive place to eat lunch and spend a couple hours fishing.
Take SC-28 north from McCormick to SR-276 about 5 miles). Turn left onto 276, continue a little over a mile to FR-3007, then turn right. The day use area is about another half mile.
More information: Long Cane Ranger District, 810 Buncombe St, Edgefield SC 29824. 803-637-5396.
