Burlington City Park

While a nicely maintained 76 acre city park, the main attraction could well be the beautifully restored 1910 Dentzel Menagerie Carousel. Built by the Dentzel Carousel Company, the carousel has 46 hand-carved animals. The carousel was originally purchased by the City of Burlington in 1948 and is one of only 14 known surviving Dentzel Menagerie carousels. You'll find the part at South Church Street and Overbrook Road. From I-85/40, take exit 141 and follow the signs to "City Park".  For more information, please phone 336-222-5030.

Cedarock County Park

This 414-acre park offers camping, nature study, maintained trail systems, picnicking, fishing, volleyball, basketball and horseshoe courts. For the hardy there is even a ropes obstacle course. The name comes from the abundance of cedar trees amid numerous rock outcroppings. The park is also refuge for wildlife.

Starting Easter weekend through the second week of June, open Saturdays 11a-8p and Sundays 1-7p. After the second weekend of June and through third weekend of August, open Tuesdays through Fridays 1-8p, Saturdays 11a-8p and Sundays 1-7p. After the third weekend of August and through Halloween - open only Saturdays 11a-8p and Sundays 1-7p.

From I-40/85 take exit 143 (NC-49) then head south 6 miles to the park entrance. For more information, please phone 336-570-6760

Eden area Boat Ramps
There are over a third of a million boats registered in Carolina. Most find their way to our fabulous waterways via boat ramps. Unfortuantely there is no single source revealing the locations of these ramps. We are working with the Wildlife Commissions to build a list which will include dirrections to help you find these ramps. This directory will be a-building for some time to come! We would certainly appreciate any information our visitors can e-mail us - to: editor@Carolina-Now.com
