On Lake Murray, Columbia's unofficial 348-acre water sports arena is basically three islands all connected to the mainland by a causeway. It may well be the most popular park in South Carolina; it has a fully equipped marina and 3 boat ramps, usually all busy. There are also 5 fancy, lakeside villas 112 campsites, and more than a dozen picnic shelters. From I-26 take the Chapin exit (exit #91) and head west to US-76. Turn right on US-76 and go just 0.2 miles where you turn left on St. Peter's Church Road (County Road #29). Proceed another 4 miles to the Dreher Island Road (there is a sign) and go another 3 miles to State Park Road. That takes you to the park entrance. Park Hours in are 6a - 9p (daily) year round. The Barnyard RV Park - LexingtonLocated just off US-1 (at Oak Grove Rd), this year-round RV park has 57, level, grassy sites each equiped with complete hookups (cable TV also available). Air-conditioned bath and laundry facilities, pay phones and, just across the street in the Barnyard Flea Market are four restaurants and a world of merchandise to keep both you and your pocketbook occupied. The park is minutes from downtown Columbia via either I-26 (exit 111) or I-20 (exit 58) or you can take US-1 (Augusta Rd) into the big city.
