exit 57 of I-95 and follow SC-64 east to Jacksonboro. Turn left on US-17 and proceed 7

How about a 4,000 feet public beach, lots of
parking (about 350 car capacity), dressing areas and restrooms, outdoor showers and a
great picnic area? And if you forgot your picnic basket (or don't have one) they have a
snack bar, too. There is a specially designated swimming area supervised by lifeguards
from 9a to 7p every day during the summer and from 10a to 6p weekends only during April
and September. There is a $4 admission fee per car (no charge if you walk in or are on a

Beachwalker Park is the joint effort of the
Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission and the Kiawah Resort Associates.
Situated on Kiaway Island, this great beach has some 300 feet of ocean frontage including
a 100 yard long designated swimming area supervised by lifeguards from 9a to 7p every day
during the summer and from 10a to 6p weekends only during April and September. There is a
$4 admission fee per car (no charge if you walk in or are on a bicycle). Facilities
include well-maintained dressing areas and restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic area and

Island County Park
A 643 acre park with a variety of recreational opportunities available including crabbing
and fishing from floating docks along tidal creeks and lagoons; biking; lagoon boating;
and picnicking. Splash Zone water park open seasonally. 50 foot climbing wall. Snack bar
and grille open year round. Gate admission is $1 per person.
Included
in the 643 acres is a full-service campground. For a small fee you can even ride
their shuttle to downtown Charleston, Folly Beach County Park or the Fishing
Pier. The campgrounds features full hookups (30-50 Amp service), laundry
facility, fully equipped bathhouses and, of course, a dump station. They also
have some 80 foot pull-through sites. Reservations absolutely required and you
are advised to book early.
Open May through August from 8a-7p;
March, April, September and October from 8a-6p; November-February from 8a-5p. Located at
