Although small, this 100-acre park features a
large, 3-bedroom/two and a half bath rental cabin with a splendid porch/deck overlooking
the lake. It rents for only $90 a night and can accommodate up to10 people. There are also
24 Campsites and camping is allowed on the Raven Rock Hiking Trail, a strenuous 4 mile
loop, at designated areas. Two other trails are less strenuous, the Natural Bridge trail,
a moderately strenuous 1 ½ mile loop, and the Cherokee Interpretive trail, an easy 1/4
mile loop. An Interpretive Center has displays describing some of the history and culture
of the Cherokee Indians.
The Park is about 15 miles northwest of Pickens,
at Lake Keowee, at the intersection of SC-11 and SC-133. .From I-85 take SC-11.(exit #1)
through Walhalla to the park (it is right after you cross the lake).
