Lake Hartwell is one of several impoundments of
the Savannah River constructed under the authority of the U.S.Army Corps of Engineers.
Covering over 50,000 acres, a variety of activities can be accommodated. The Hartwell
State Park covers 680 acres with 15 miles of shoreline.
Facilities include some 150 camp sites, 100 RV
sites, 2 boat ramps (privately owned boats permitted) and super fishing opportunities
(largemouth bass, hybrid bass, crappie, bream, stripers, catfish).
