Regional Public Beach Access Points
As one might guess, the street which follows the
beach is Ocean Boulevard. In the North Myrtle Beach area this beach road is interrupted
between 28th and 29th Avenues (near the Holiday Inn Hotel). Just drive back to Kings
Highway (US-17) and then slip back to Ocean Boulevard again to pass this
interruption.While there aren't any official public access points to the beach there are
dozens of empty lots along the beach that are used to access the beach. In some areas
parking can be a problem - and you must be very careful to be sure you aren't illegally
parked. While the area between 29th Avenue and 47th Avenue in the Atlantic Beach - Windy
Hill Beach area is our favorite, the entire strip up through Cherry Grove Beach is very
nice. There is a cafe on the beach at 38th Avenue which is entered from the beach (shirts
and shoes - SC State law). For the RVers there is a very large campground at the foot of
48th Avenue right on the beach alongside the expensive condos. (see campgrounds)
