Paris Mountain State Park - Greenville SC

This 1275-acre park just north of Greenville is very popular throughout the year. The mountain pokes up like a monument and is well forested with old stands of trees.

Lake swimming and the many picnic areas are major attractions although there are also well-equipped meeting facilities and some 50 campsites. Hiking trails include Sulpher Spring trail, a rather strenuous 4 mile loop, Brissey Ridge trail, a 2.3 mile loop also rather strenuous, and Lake Placid trail which is an easy walk around the parks 13-acre lake.

An entrance fee is charged for day-time users - $1.50 each for age 16 and older - SC senior citizens admitted FREE. South Carolina has an annual passport program which, when purchased for $40 (per year), allows entry to all SC State Parks.

From I-385: take SC-291 north to SC 253. Turn right and continue another 4 miles to State Park Road. Turn left, 1 more mile and you'll see the well-marked park entrance on the left.

Park Hours in April through October are 9a - 9p (daily); November through March the park closes at 6p. Mailing address: 2401 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609. Phone: (864) 244-5565.
