This 300-acre Greenville County
park is located on SC 11 (Cherokee Scenic Highway) about 31 miles (north) of
Greenville. It offers a little bit of everything including a pair of nice,
air-conditioned, 2 bedroom cabins (complete with refrigerators and microwaves).
Rates for the cabins are $100 (per night) for the larger and $60
for the smaller cabin. Lower rates for longer stays
apply. Reservations required and you should get them in very early!
The park also has 25 campsites with
hookups (water and electric) and a nice restroom with hot showers. A dump station is also
available. The season starts in March and continues into November. Camp sites are $8 per
night with a $2 discount for seniors.
The 5 acre lake allows swimming (a
life guard is usually on duty in the afternoons during the summer months), boating (you must rent
their boats - no private boats are allowed) and fishing.
The park opens at 8a and closes at sunset year-round. Office hours: 11a-12noon, 4p-5p.
