Sergeant Jasper State Park - Hardeeville At exit #8 of I-95 (near Hardeeville, 13 miles south of Ridgeland), this is one of the newest of South Carolina's state parks. Currently it has a community building and picnic shelters. Lake fishing is permitted. Ridgeland, the county seat of Jasper County, is a primary access point for explorations of the Ashepoo, Broad, Coosawhatchie, Pocataligo and Tullifinny Rivers. Like the more famous Edisto River, these are very slow flowing black water rivers, teaming with land and water wildlife and flora.
