BOAT RAMPS
There are over a third of a million boats registered
in Carolina. Most find their way to our fabulous waterways via boat ramps. Unfortunately
there is no single source revealing the locations of these ramps. We are working with the
Wildlife Commissions to build a list which will include directions to help you find these
ramps. This directory will be a-building for some time to come! We would certainly
appreciate any information our visitors can e-mail us - to: editor@Carolina-Now.com

HIKING TRAILS: There are five trails totaling some 9 miles of foot paths.
Bluff Loop Trail starts at the picnic area (and takes you south to Little Fishing Creek. It then follows the west bank of Little Fishing Creek upstream (pasing a few good fishing holes) then bends into the woods and returns to the picnic area. The trail offers an easy to moderate 3 mile hike.
Dam Site Loop (accessible from Summit Loop Trail) is an easy one mile stroll.
Discovery Loop Trail (accessible from Stream Trail) is an easy 1.25 mile loop. The east side of the loop follows Little Fishing Creek upstream to the junction of Spring Branch Creek. It it continues upstream a few more yards then bends back to rejoin Stream Trail.
Stream Loop Trail starts at the picnic area, takes you to Little Fishing Creek. It then follows the west bank of Little Fishing Creek briefly then bends back to the picnic area connecting with Discovery Loop Trail on the way. It's an easy stroll and somewhat less than a mile.
Summit Loop Trail leads to the top of Medoc Mountain (325 foot elevation) which is an ancient granite outcrop. The trail is a 3 mile trek over mostly rocky terrain but shouldn't be difficult to negotiate. It is not wheelchair friendly.CANOE TRAILS:
Little Fishing Creek Canoe Trail is a (mostly) slow-flowing (remember, the land is virtually flat here) paddle down the wide (50 feet) but shallow Little Fishing Creek. You bring your own canoe. Little Fishing Creek is accessible from the bridge on SR 1322. From there you can paddle 2.5 miles to the bridge on SR 1002. Fishing is supposed to be very good in several spots (check with the office for 'where'). You can fish from your canoe or from one of the trails which follow the creek.
