Burgaw area
BOAT RAMPS
There are over a third of a million boats registered
in Carolina. Most find their way to our fabulous waterways via boat ramps. Unfortunately
there is no single source revealing the locations of these ramps. We are working with the
Wildlife Commissions to build a list which will include directions to help you find these
ramps. This directory will be a-building for some time to come! We would certainly

Black
River (Hunt's Bluff): Bladen County - between Kelly and Adkinson NC
From I-40 exit 398 (Burgaw) follow NC-53 west,
cross the Black River. SR-1547 is just on the other side of the bridge.
Northeast Cape Fear
River: Pender County - Holly Shelter NC
Almost 8 miles east of Burgaw on NC-53 turn
right on SR-1523. Heading south, 1523 becomes SR-1522 then SR-1520. Unless DOT did some
paving recently, the pavement quits after the firstr 2 miles. Just stay on the same road
and forget the 'SR' signs. The access area is about 6 miles south of NC-53.
Northeast Cape Fear
River: Pender County - Sawpit Landing NC
From Burgaw, follow NC-53 north about 3 miles to
SR-1512. (if you cross the river bridge you went too far). Turn right on SR-1512 and go to
the end and the access area.

Black River: Sampson County - Ivanhoe NC
From I-40 exit 385 (Wallace) take NC-41 west
through Wallace to Harrells. Turn left on SR-1100. The ramp is just south of Ivanhoe on SR
1100.

Northeast Cape Fear
River: Duplin County - Kenansville NC
The access area is about midway between
Kenansville and Beulaville on NC-24 at the Northeast Cape Fear River Bridge.
