   Watching nature's own water shows is spell-binding. The sound, the sight and the power create an unforgettable experience.
   There are dozens of waterfalls, mostly in Western North Carolina. Some are easier to reach than others and can be viewed from the road. Others require a little walking. A few, however, require strenuous climbs down — and then back up — steep mountain sides.  		   Usually good trails (and even specially constructed stairways where needed) are provided to maximize your safety. But, please, be careful. Don't let a momentary slip of concentration ruin your visit.
 
   Here, we will give you directions telling you how to reach each of them and what to expect when you get there.

WARNING! Waterfalls are dangerous. Many people slip or fall
to their deaths every year because they disregard the warnings
and venture too close to the edge. Play it safe; don't spoil your trip.
